Sandstone Blocks are cut at the quarry and available in various sizes for garden landscaping, feature walls and and sub-divisional retaining walls.
B Grade Regular and Select are by-products we accumulate as we cut A Grade Blocks.

Industry standards on B Grade Sandstone Blocks are two opposite sides wheel sawn for stacking, to make secure for building purposes. Faces are generally split for a more natural look.
WHEEL SAWN REGULAR B GRADE BLOCKS
• B Grade Blocks have 2 to 4 sawn sides.
They are sawn top and bottom but may not have sawn ends.
• There is a 100mm tolerance either side of the face height.
• The Length of the blocks can measure between 500 - 1500mm.
The average length of B Grade is 1000mm.

WHEEL SAWN PREMIUM [SELECT] B GRADE BLOCKS
• B Grade Select Blocks (B Premium) have 4 to 5 sawn sides.
This means each of the Blocks faces will vary in appearance.
One Block may have a natural (unsawn) face and the next may have a partially awn face.
Each block has sawn ends and is sawn top and bottom.
• There is a 50mm tolerance either side of the face height.
• Length of the blocks can measure between 800 - 1200mm.
B Grade Select Blocks can be slightly out of square and have minor chips off the corners.
This is a great product for wall building as the ends butt up nicely and they can be ayered with the sawn tops and bottoms.
Given that the faces of the blocks will vary slightly this adds a beautiful texture to the overall appearance of the wall.
Our Premium B Grade Blocks are sold at a 'block price plus delivery' and guaranteed minimum 5 wheel sawn sides.

The enduring nature of sandstone means that it is in demand today as much as ever and at Helidon Sandstone, located just over 100km to the west of Brisbane, we are suppliers of high-quality Australian sandstone.
Our sandstone blocks, extracted from our own quarry are also cut on site and in the process of creating A grade blocks we frequently end up with blocks that do not meet the strict requirements for grade A blocks, but are still sought after as sandstone retaining wall blocks. Our grade B blocks are themselves divided into 2 categories, premium and regular, offering differing qualities but both are generally available in one metre lengths at 400 x 400, 500 x 500 or 600 x 600 mm.
Our premium grade B sandstone retaining blocks will have at least 4 sawn sides – both ends and the top and bottom, and may have a 5th side sawn too, but the faces of the blocks will inevitably vary. In itself, this adds to the visual aesthetics of a retaining wall, whilst the sawn faces facilitate easy construction. However, if you wish to minimise your sandstone retaining wall cost as much as possible, you may consider using our regular grade B blocks, which may have as few or as many as 4 sawn sides, perhaps with some slight chipping and a tolerance of 100mm on either side of the face. This low-cost option still results in a great looking and long-lasting sandstone retaining wall.
